Stephen is the Founder and Executive Chairman of Proform Foods. While Stephen’s background is engineering, he is equally known for his entrepreneurial mindset having developed his previous venture, Specialty Cereals, over a period of more than 30 years. Specialty Cereals contract manufactured cereal products for Kelloggs, Uncle Tobys, Sanitarium, Cadburys and directly licenced and produced the Vogel’s brand of breakfast cereals. Following the sale of Specialty Cereals, he reinvested in ProForm Foods to continue his passion for R&D and technology to unlock challenges in the food industry. At his core, Stephen is a problem solver and his latest pursuit has seen a more efficient and effective production of protein. Stephen is an avid surf ski paddler and can often be found on the waters off Freshwater in Sydney, contemplating the next opportunity that needs his attention.
Chief Executive Officer
Matthew is the Chief Executive Officer of Proform Foods. As a triple Olympian for Australia in swimming, he understands the benefits of good nutrition to maximise physical and mental performance. He has joined the family business and continues to apply his philosophy of good balance and great tasting nutritious products. Matthew sits on a number of boards and gives back to the swimming community with current roles as FINA Vice President and President of Oceania Swimming Association. Matthew continues to enjoy swimming though these days it’s on a social level as well as supporting his three sons in their various sporting pursuits.
Chief Commercial Officer
Nick is responsible for sales and demand generation. He has a wealth of experience in consumer goods having held senior sales and commercial leadership positions at Colgate-Palmolive and more recently has invested time in working with startup businesses, bringing disciplined thought and action to help unlock bottom-line growth. In 2019, Nick completed the Wharton School of Business, Entrepreneurship Acceleration Program (University of Pennsylvania).
DR CHARLIE CHESSARI
Chief Technology Officer
Dr Charlie holds a Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering (First Class Honours) and a PhD from The University of Sydney. He has successfully initiated, undertaken and managed numerous R&D and commercial innovation projects over a number of years in a range of technology areas. ProForm Foods culminates a 20 year journey in protein extrusion cooking bringing to bear significant experience in extrusion research and development. Dr Chessari’s previous roles included Principal Research Scientist at CSIRO, Science Leader, Team Leader, and Technical Manager. He has been a recipient of the AIFST Innovation Award and an invited speaker locally and internationally.
